I have had the privilege of actually spending some time with and around Mr. Lee Roy Selmon and I can tell you that as great as he was as a defensive lineman for the Bucs he is even more impressive as person. A lot of people don't realize how important he has been to building up the USF football program as well. It was only fitting that Mr. Selmon was the first Buccaneer honored in the Ring of Honor and I am glad the Glazer family saw fit to honor him that way. Hopefully other guys from that era will soon be similarly recognized like Doug Williams, Jimmie Giles, Batman Woods, Rickey Bell, and the list goes on and on.

The Man!
Congratulations go out to Lee Roy Selmon.

I can tell you from personal experience that Mr. Selmon is a better person than he was a football player and that is saying a lot. There is no one more deserving to be the inaugural Buccaneer inducted into the Ring of Honor.

Hall-of-Fame defensive end Lee Roy Selmon will be introduced in a press conference Monday as the Bucs' first member of the new Ring of Honor.
Selmon, who is the only Buccaneers enshrined in the hall, will attend the press conference.
