Your Week Fifteen Leader

Oh yes, the crown has come back home to yours truly. And with two weeks left I am now just 3 points out of second place, and 23 out of first. Its going right down to the wire and every single pick is maginified now. And you know what they say, pressure bursts pipes!

We have another newcomer to the weekly crown as Keanu Reeve's Beard took the title this week. I just want to say thank you to everyone who has continued to make picks every week even when it seemed like you were out of contention. Hopefully next year we can get a lot more participation.

As for the overall lead this 1Bigg_Er character is still in the lead but I'm closing at third place. Its going to come down to the wire and you know the old saying, pressure burst pipes!!!

Finally the crown has come back home! With 77 points I crushed the competition last week and am now 3rd and back in contention for the #1 spot. With 5 weeks left its anybody's ball game and I'm going for mine.

I don't know how he did it but 1Bigg_ER busted out a 119 to not only win the week but also move into first place.

Unbelievable.

At least I got my respectable 98 and moved back into 4th place. Looks like its anybody's game with 6 weeks to go. Don't forget to get your picks in early for all the Thankgiving Day games. And as always, good luck!

Got my name back up in headlights this past weekend with an impressive 63 points.  Unfortunately it didn't help me at all in the standings.

Ok it appears that we have a ringer in the league with Top Dog. This guy is smashing everyone one right now and its starting to have the distinct feel of a blowout. In better news I have now moved all the way up to 3rd place even on a week where I didn't think I did particularly well. I'll tell you this much, I'm not going down without a fight though. So Top Dog you're on notice buddy. I'm coming for ya!!!

Ok maybe I didn't make this clear but trash talking IS allowed in this fantasy football pick em league.  Preferrably in the comments of these posts each week so we can all join in.  Its been wayyyy too quiet for my liking.  I'll tell you this much, after a terrible week one for me I am now officially kicking asses with steel toe boots on and taking names!  I wasn't number 1 this week but I finished just behind our week 3 champ ....uhmmm ...the uhmm....Butt Water Drinkers?

Your Week Two Leader

For the second week in a row Top Dog is in fact the Top Dog of our fantasy football league with a scorching 79 points. I did a little bit better than my first week with a respectable 57 of my own. Remember that your lowest week will be dropped at the end of the season and that is why right now yahoo shows you with only having only the points from your highest week so far. I'll tell you this much, if Top Dog doesn't slip and or somebody else doesn't get on a hot streak most of us are about to get embarrassed lol.

Might have to take that guy with me out to Vegas!

Your Week One Leader

Week one of the NFL is in the books and it's time to check in with our fantasy pickem league. The leader in the clubhouse is the appropriately named TopDog with a whopping 74 points. In stark contrast after one week I am pulling up the rear with only 14 points.

I will post every week to remind announce the leader and to remind everyone to get their picks in. So Congrats to TopDog but I'm coming for you this week. Any trash talking can commence in the comments section!

Friendly Reminder

Remember that the NFL season kicks off tomorrow night and that means everyone participating in my pick'em fantasy football league needs to have their picks in before the Saints and Vikings kick off.

I just don't want anybody to have any excuses when I beat ya'll down this year ;)

Fantasy Football Pick Em

Ok I received just enough of a response to warrant setting up a fantasy football pick em league. To play all you really need is a yahoo account which is free. After signing in you go to sports then fantasy then Pro Football pick'em. The name of the league is "passing on the game", the group id is #16300, and the password is memphis (all lowercase).

You can of course read the rules on yahoo at your leisure but I'll just give you a brief overview. Every week you pick which teams you think will win the game. In addition however you have to factor in the point spread. Meaning you have to not only decide if a team will win but if they will win by the point spread or better. If not then you pick the other team. Even if they lose, if they beat the point spread you get points.

Also you get to assign confidence points to each game you pick. So when there is a game or a point spread you aren't sure about you can give it a lower confidence number and focus more on the games you feel really good about to try to maximize your points there. That's one strategy but I know there are others so I will leave that up to you.

The great thing is you don't have to know all that much about the different players and you aren't penalized if you are just a casual fan. Every pick you will have a 50-50 chance of being right so this game is for any and everybody. If you know of anybody else who wants in please pass along the information. Everyone is welcome.

Fantasy Football

For the past three years I have participated in a few fantasy football leagues. I am toying with the idea of setting one up for the people who visit my blog but first I want to gauge the interest level. No need in setting one up if no one wants to participate. Also I am more of a "pick em" guy meaning the fantasy football leagues where you pick which teams will win and or beat the spread, rather than a league where you pick players and then choose who to start every week. I am open to either approach though and if there is enough interest I'll even set up one of each. But again I need to know if anybody is interested. So leave me a yay or nay in the comments and if you have a preference of which kind of league you would like to play in you can leave that too. If I get at least 10 people committed then I will start the process of setting it up.

If not, no biggie. I'll just join someone else's like I've been doing.
